ଆମର ଗାଁ ର ମଶାନ ପଦା।
ଆଖିପାଖି ଘର ଆମବୁରେଇ
ପୋଲବାନ୍ଦୁ ଆର ଜିଇଁ ଚରେଇ
ଗଗଉଥିସନ ଗହକି କରି
ଇ ଗଛ ସେ ଗଛ ବୁଲି କିନ୍ଦିରି
ରୁଡ଼କି ତରେ ଝାପଡ଼ୁ ବରେଁ ମଶାନ ମାଉଲିର ଗୁଧା
ଆମର ଗାଁ ର ମଶାନ ପଦା।
ମାଉଲି ଖେଲସି ଡାହି ମାକରି
ହୁଲହୁଲି ଦେସି କିରଲି ପାରି
ସର ସର ମାରେ ଧୁଏଲ ସରଡ଼ା
ଖର ଖର ବାଜେ ତାଲ ବରଡ଼ା
ଦୁଲି ଝୁଲସି ଜୁଏ ଜଲସି ଯେନତା ହୁଏଲ ଗଦା
ଆମର ଗାଁ ର ମଶାନ ପଦା।
ଉଆଁସ ରାତି ଟଁଡହେଇ ଚରେ
ଠୁଁଡିର ଉପରେ ବଏଠା ଧରେ
ସରବ ନଙ୍ଗଲି ଝିତରି ମୁଡି
ଚରୁଥିସି ବୀର ବାହାନେ ଚଢ଼ି
ଦାବଖର ଟୁଁଡେ ଉପର ଗୁଡେଁ କରସି ନରଦା କୁଦା
ଆମର ଗାଁ ର ମଶାନ ପଦା।
କୁଁଥସି ପେତେନ କଁଚା ପିଲାତି
ଅଁହେ ଅଁହେ କରେ ଛୁଆ ସେକାଥିଁ
କାଁଡେ ଲେଖା ନଖ ବାହାର କରି
ଲୁକକୁ ଦେଖାଲେଁ ଧାଏଁ ଆପରି
ଠେଗୁଆଁ ମଶାନ ବାହାର ହେସି ତାର ବଡ଼ଖା ଦଦା
ଆମର ଗାଁ ର ମଶାନ ପଦା।

ଗୁନିଆଁ କରସି ଫୁକାଝରା
ଖୁନ କପଟ ପେଶେନ ବାନ
ଅଏଁଛା ବଟାସି ମଶାନ ଠାନ
କାଲି କୁକରା ପଟକେଁ ହେସନ ଦେବତା ପେତେନ ସିଧା

Poetry was written by Padma shri Haldhar Nag. He is a Sambalpuri Language (also
written as Kosali, Koshali) poet and
writer from odisha, india. He is also known as Lok kabi Ratna. He was born in a
poor family of Ghens in Bargarh district of Odisha on
March 31, 1950. He lost his father at the age of ten. He had formal schooling
up to third standard only as he had to dropout from school after class three
due to his family responsibilities at that tender age. Hundreds of poets
imitate his style and technique boosting a robust “Haldhar Dhara” in Western
Odisha. He has been at the forefront of the Sambalpuri-koshli language movement
for inclusion in 8th schedule of Constitution. The BBC made
a documentary film about his life and works. He was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India by Govt. of India in 2016.

Haldhar Nag lives in a remote village at Ghens around 40+ kms away from my town Barpali. Last year I had taken great physical trouble in a bike to reach his village to make the following story on his life. Haldhar is a very shy and soft spoken person. Unlike us he is not updated with times. He got one mobile phone but no numbers are saved in it. If someone calls he just switch on to speak. He know no English and could barely speak Hindi. He is completely cutoff from modern life that we live :
